These two CDs I recorded in 1986 and I’m really proud of them. They are rich in beauty, all the players were in the moment, and you might love the songs by Sri Chinmoy arranged by myself and others.
Soulful, playful and rich. Ear candy. Heart nectar. Soul bliss.
There’s also an evolving Shambhu Store so we can let the magic fly.
GUITAR SPIRITS: For Our Friends
Shambhu performed with Guitar Spirits, a quartet of guitarists and stringed instrumentalists who created an ambient musical offering that creates ambient arrangements around the melodies of mystic Sri Chinmoy. This CD, For Our Friends, is extraordinarily uplifting and contemplative, as the musicians soar into a higher realm of peace and delight. I enjoyed playing with Guitar Spirits during our tours of Europe, Canada and the USA. We recorded two CDs: Guitar Spirits and For Our Friends.
This is a timeless CD that inspires with each play. Produced by Shambhu.

Equinox
Equinox is a collaboration I’ve enjoyed with saxist Premik Russell Tubbs and was recorded in one take, on one night, at a studio in Manhattan. The session was magical; the music quite literally played through both of us.
We perform our own new age/jazz fusion arrangements of melodies by mystic Sri Chinmoy. Each song allows us to extend our personal creativity into an improvisational realm. Premik’s mastery and the spontaneous improvisations that occur between us are something to behold.
Equinox is an experience of total musical and spiritual freedom where we blend our music as one and become vehicles of pure light and inspiration. The result is a delightful and marvelous journey.
Ultra-Sonic Sessions
These five songs of mine were recorded in 1971-1973 at Ultra-Sonic Studios in Hempstead, NY with co-producer and engineer Michael Tapes. Michael worked at the studio and we produced these demo songs for a possible album deal that never emerged. Around the same time, Billy Joel was working at the studio on his inaugural album (before the CBS deal) and I saw him often.
Many of these songs were written while in high school. I’m playing almost all the instruments on the songs except drums (Ed Steinberg, Michael Tapes), piano (Bob Wortman, Steve Gesser), guitar in I Need A Girl (end part) by Jay Tran, and vocals in Amanda by Amanda Salles.
