We all know we need to meditate, but many find it challenging to maintain focus and commitment. There are many paths to a meditative state of being. Music is one such portal. It can be trance inducing, and can carry you away on a journey without ever leaving home.
It is just such a gift that LA based artist, Shambhu, has created in his new musical meditation CD, “Sacred Love.” You can listen to selections from the album at http://www.shambhumusic.com. LONG ISLAND HERALD: In what could be called his own “long, strange trip,” North Woodmere native Neil Vineberg, 57, a musical prodigy, who had left the industry, has returned to his roots with a self-financed CD.
The 12-song disc, “Sacred Love: Feel the Journey,” is Vineberg’s musical ode to his spiritual beliefs of living life with love to help lessen the misunderstandings that occur between people of different cultures and religions.
REVIEWS
From: THE BORDERLAND:
“We are in ‘new age’ territory here but this is an album that should appeal to those who enjoy acoustic guitar and perhaps even folk music. Shambhu is a very accomplished guitarist and his new album contains a dozen tracks of acoustic music. Sacred Love: Feel The Journey ticks all the boxes for new age music – it is rich in spirituality, and yet the sound incorporates elements of what could be traditional music in amongst the lush instrumentation. Featuring the guitar and piano of Will Ackerman [who also co-produces] and the bass of Tony Levin [a long time member of Peter Gabriel's band], plus support from a number of other musicians who work with jazz and world music names, the musicianship on the album is second to none. And I have to say that Shambhu has a very nimble pair of hands. So this is an album that should appeal to many different types of listeners. It may not be rock but Sacred Love… has a groove to it on many tracks – listen to Natural Moment to hear what I mean. As you would imagine the track title are highly evocative: Edge of Eternal, Maui Breeze [which even has a touch of Sergio Mendez latin feel to it], Nirab Amare, Shiva Grove, to name a few. This album may be about finding inner spiritual peace but it is also a very fine instrumental album in its own right and has crossover appeal beyond that of the new age category.
